Crock Pot Tater Tot Egg Bake
Description
The recipe starts by layering tater tots, diced Canadian bacon or ham, chopped onions, shredded cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses in thirds inside a greased slow cooker. The layering is repeated two more times, ending with a top layer of cheese to provide a melty finish. The base ingredients combine savory meat, mild onion sweetness, and creamy cheeses.
Separately, a mixture of twelve eggs, milk, all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper is whisked together, creating a custard-like batter that will bind the layers upon cooking. This egg mixture is poured over the layered ingredients in the slow cooker.
The crock pot is covered and cooked on high for 2.5 to 3 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours until the eggs are fully set and the casserole is cooked through. The finished dish has a creamy, tender interior complemented by the softened tater tots retaining some texture and a savory bouquet from Canadian bacon and cheeses.
