Crock Pot Teriyaki Meatballs

Report
Crock Pot Teriyaki Meatballs feature fully cooked frozen meatballs simmered slowly with bottled teriyaki sauce, canned pineapple with juice, and brown sugar. The mixture develops a sweet-tangy glaze and tender, flavorful meatballs that can be served over rice. Sliced green onions added at the end provide freshness.

Description

This recipe combines frozen, fully cooked meatballs with a sauce made from teriyaki sauce, canned pineapple tidbits including the juice, and brown sugar added to the crock pot. Cooking on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly, coating the meatballs with a glossy, sweet glaze.

Including the pineapple juice adds sweetness and acidity to balance the savory teriyaki sauce. The brown sugar intensifies the sauce’s depth, enhancing caramelization during cooking. Adding sliced green onions just before serving introduces a mild oniony brightness that contrasts the sauce's sweetness.

Meatballs served with the teriyaki sauce make a convenient meal option, commonly eaten over white or brown rice to complement the sauce and provide a filling base. This dish suits casual family meals or potlucks requiring minimal preparation.

A suggested tip for thickening the sauce is mixing cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry and adding it to the crock pot in the last hour of cooking to achieve a thicker consistency if desired.
