Crockpot Apple Cobbler

Crockpot Apple Cobbler uses Honeycrisp apples with cinnamon, brown sugar, and a golden cake mix topping melted with butter. Slow cooking develops tender, spiced fruit beneath a slightly crisp, buttery crust. It is a warm dessert that can be served on its own or with ice cream for added creaminess.

Description

This Crockpot Apple Cobbler starts with peeled, cored, and sliced Honeycrisp apples layered in a slow cooker with a mixture of brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt, vanilla extract, butter slices, and apple juice. The filling softens during the long, low-heat cook, producing juicy, tender fruit infused with warm spice and sweetness.

The prepared yellow cake mix is evenly spread atop the fruit and covered with melted butter. As the cobbler cooks on low for six hours, the cake mix forms a golden, buttery topping that contrasts with the soft apple filling underneath.

Once done, the cobbler requires a slight cooling before serving. It pairs well with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce to add richness and coolness against the warm, spiced apples and crisp topping, making it a classic autumn dessert suited for slow cooker convenience.
