Crockpot Broccoli Cheese Casserole
Description
This casserole blends thawed frozen broccoli with a condensed cream of celery soup base mixed with two cups of sharp cheddar cheese, seasoning salt, and pepper. The ingredients are combined evenly and transferred to a slow cooker. A topping of crushed Ritz crackers and remaining cheese crowns the casserole, adding crunch after baking. Cooking on low heat for five hours or high for two and a half hours allows the broccoli to become tender while the cheese sauce thickens and coats it thoroughly.
The casserole offers a creamy and savory profile with a combination of soft, tender broccoli balanced by a crispy cheese-cracker topping. The slow cooking method simplifies preparation and keeps the dish warm and ready to serve. It can be served as a side alongside poultry or pork or as a main for a vegetarian-friendly meal depending on preferences.
