Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing

This Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing recipe layers boneless chicken breasts with cheeses, canned soups, and cornbread stuffing mix in a slow cooker. The combination cooks together until tender, producing a hearty, comforting meal with moist chicken and flavorful stuffing.

Description

The Crockpot Chicken and Stuffing recipe starts by greasing the slow cooker and placing chicken breasts at the bottom. Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses are layered on top, followed by a mix of canned cream of chicken and cream of celery soups. Dry cornbread stuffing mix is spread over the soups, optionally with an herb packet if it's not pre-mixed. Finally, a mixture of low-sodium chicken broth and melted butter is poured over the stuffing layer.

The slow cooker is set to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender and the stuffing to absorb flavors and moisture, resulting in a cohesive and hearty dinner. The mix of cheeses adds richness, while the soups keep the chicken moist.

This one-pot meal is convenient and filling, suitable for serving with a simple vegetable side or salad. Using canned soups and stuffing mix simplifies preparation without sacrificing comfort food appeal.
