Ingredients

  • 3 lbs corned beef brisket with seasoning packet that is included
  • 4 whole carrots peeled and sliced thick
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled or minced
  • ½ head of cabbage cut into thin wedge
  • 2 cups water or beef broth

optional for serving

  • homemade or store bought mashed potatoes
  • homemade or store bought horseradish cream sauce
  • finely chopped chives

Instructions

  1. Into the crockpot add corned beef and sprinkle over the included seasoning packet.
  2. Add the carrots, cabbage cut into thin wedges and garlic cloves to the top.
  3. Pour over 2 cups water
  4. Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.
  5. Remove meat onto a cutting board and slice against the grain into strips. Serve with cabbage and carrots, drizzle juice from the crockpot over.
  6. Optional for serving: mashed potatoes and horseradish cream sauce with finely chopped chives sprinkled over.
