Crockpot Little Smokies

Crockpot Little Smokies feature small sausages slow-cooked in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce made with brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. Slow cooking in the crockpot ensures the sausages are warmed through and infused with the rich sauce, suited well for casual gatherings or appetizers.

Description

This Crockpot Little Smokies recipe layers small smoked sausages with a homemade barbecue sauce composed of barbecue sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. Mixing the sauce ingredients thoroughly before combining with the sausages ensures even flavor distribution. Cooking the sausage and sauce mixture on low heat for 2 to 3 hours allows the smokies to warm completely and absorb the sauce's sweetness and tang. The final dish can be served directly from the crockpot, maintaining warmth ideal for parties. The sauce can be made ahead and stored for up to three days, providing convenience. The recipe notes that using a favorite store-bought barbecue sauce is acceptable, offering flexibility. Additionally, after cooking, switching the crockpot to the warm setting keeps the smokies hot throughout an event.
