Crockpot Mac and Cheese

This Crockpot Mac and Cheese uses uncooked elbow pasta slowly cooked in a mixture of whole milk, evaporated milk, sharp cheddar, and American cheese in a slow cooker. Butter, salt, pepper, and garlic powder enrich the creamy sauce that develops as the pasta cooks for two hours on low. The result is a comforting baked macaroni with a smooth, cheesy texture and rich flavor, made hands-off in a crockpot.

Description

The recipe begins by coating a large slow cooker with non-stick spray before adding dry elbow pasta along with evaporated milk, whole milk, shredded sharp cheddar, cubed American cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cubes of butter are dotted on top to enhance richness. Cooking on low heat allows the pasta to absorb liquids gradually, softening to tender al dente while integrating cheeses into a smooth sauce.

After cooking for one hour, stirring the contents ensures even thickening, followed by an additional hour to develop a creamy consistency. Removing the lid for a few minutes after cooking thickens the sauce further as excess moisture evaporates.

Crockpot Mac and Cheese is ideal for a set-it-and-forget-it meal, offering creamy, cheese-forward comfort food without needing stovetop involvement. It pairs well as a side for barbecue, roasted meats, or served alone.
