Crockpot Meatball Sliders

Crockpot Meatball Sliders, a great appetizer for every occasion. The Italian-style meatballs are cooked in a rich tomato sauce with herbs and parmesan, and topped with more cheese. All this goodness is then sandwiched between some delicious buns. Pure perfection! Why not have them for Game Day?

Ingredients

Servings

For the meatballs

  • 250 g ground beef ½ lb, lean
  • ½ onion grated or minced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon italian herb blend dried

For the tomato sauce

  • 1 can tomato 400 g, 13 oz (or any other sauce of your choice, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon italian herbs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 2 bay leaf

To assemble the sliders

  • 4 Buns
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese grated

Instructions

  1. Add the chopped tomatoes to the slow cooker together with the parmesan, seasoning, parmesan and bay leaves.
  2. To make the meatballs, mix the ground beef with minced onion, garlic, parmesan and seasoning.
  3. Shape into balls, and add them to the slow cooker too.
  4. Cook on high for 3.5-4 hours, or on low for 7-8 hours.
  5. Once the meatballs and sauce are ready, cut the buns in half horizontally, but not all the way through, divide the meatballs and sauce, top with grated cheese, and place under the grill for 5-10 minutes to melt the cheese.
  6. Alternatively, you can place the in the oven, or just enjoy them without grilling/baking.
