Crockpot Spiral Ham

Report
This crockpot spiral ham recipe uses a large pre-sliced ham cooked slowly with a glaze of brown sugar, maple syrup or honey, and pineapple juice. The slow cooker gently warms and infuses the ham with sweet notes from the glaze, offering tender, flavorful slices ideal for holiday meals or gatherings while freeing oven space.

Description

The Crockpot Spiral Ham begins with placing a 7 to 8-pound spiral sliced ham flat side down in a slow cooker, discarding any glaze packet or plastic parts. Brown sugar is rubbed over the surface, then maple syrup (or honey) and pineapple juice are poured on top to create a sweet and tangy glaze that gently coats the meat during cooking.

Cooking on low heat for four hours ensures the ham is thoroughly heated and the flavors meld without drying out. Periodic basting with the cooking juices helps keep the ham moist and enhances its glossy appearance. The slow cooker method is ideal for busy occasions as it requires minimal attention and frees oven space for other dishes.

The resulting ham is tender with mild sweetness and can be served hot for a main course, sliced thin alongside sides or sandwiches.
