Croutons

Croutons are made with cubed sourdough bread coated in butter, garlic, and parsley, and baked to a crispy golden brown.

Ingredients

  • 1 round sourdough bread cut into ½-inch cubes (about 5 cups, loaf
  • 12 tablespoons butter salted
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons parsley finely diced, fresh

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large OVEN SAFE skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. When butter is mostly melted- stir in garlic and cook for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  4. Stir in fresh parsley. Toss ingredients gently and make sure that bread cubes are coated in the butter and garlic mixture.
  5. Place skillet into the oven. (Depending on the size of your skillet you may need to work in batches.)
  6. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until crisped to your liking. Keep an eye on them after 20 minutes as you don't want the croutons to burn. The cooking time will vary depending on how big your bread cubes are.
