Cuban Sliders
Description
This recipe layers thin slices of deli ham and Swiss cheese inside split slider rolls, topped with crisp slices of pickles. The rolls are brushed with a mixture of melted butter and garlic powder before baking, which crisps and flavors the tops. Baking covered briefly ensures the cheese melts thoroughly, then uncovered for a golden finish.
The contrast between the warm, tender sliders and pickles’ acidity and crunch provides a classic flavor combination reminiscent of Cuban sandwiches. Chopped parsley added after baking brightens the presentation, and yellow mustard on the side provides additional tang.
Slider-style rolls such as potato or Hawaiian rolls work well as they stay soft but hold fillings. Using quality deli ham, such as smoked or honey ham, enhances the overall taste. These sliders are best served hot immediately after baking when cheese is melted and bread is crisp.
