Cuban Sliders
Description
This Cuban Sliders recipe assembles 12 sliders by slicing Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally but keeping tops and bottoms attached, making a pull-apart sandwich. The bottom layer is spread with mayonnaise, then stacked evenly with Swiss cheese, ham, and pickles. After replacing the tops, a mixture of melted unsalted butter, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and fine sea salt is poured over the rolls, infusing flavor and promoting a golden crust when baked.
Baked covered at 350°F, the sliders steam and meld while the butter mixture seeps in. After removing foil, they bake further until the tops brown and cheese melts fully. The sliders provide a blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors with a soft texture from the rolls, balanced by melted cheese and flavorful ham layers.
Once cooled slightly, the large sandwich is cut into 12 individual sliders perfect for handheld serving. These sandwiches can be served hot for optimal meltiness and flavor fusion.
