Cucumber Dill Sauce (Tzatziki Sauce)
Description
This Cucumber Dill Sauce involves peeling and finely chopping a medium cucumber, then patting it dry to remove excess moisture. Combining the cucumber with Greek yogurt and milk creates a creamy base, while fresh dill adds a fragrant herbal note. For traditional Tzatziki, adding minced garlic and lemon juice gives it a sharper tang and slight pungency, but the basic version keeps it mild.
The sauce’s texture balances the cool crunch of cucumber with the smoothness of yogurt and the subtle richness of milk. It’s best served chilled, allowing the flavors to meld. This sauce works well as an accompaniment to grilled meats, vegetables, or as a salad dressing alternative.
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber peeled, seeded, chopped into small pieces, medium
- ¾ cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons dill chopped, fresh
For traditional Tzatziki Sauce:

Instructions
- Remove skin from cucumber and chop it into small pieces.
- Pat the cucumber dry with paper towels.
- Mix the cucumber, Greek yogurt, milk and dill in small bowl.
