Cucumber Water
Description
The Cucumber Water recipe involves slicing half an English cucumber and combining it with eight cups of cold water in a pitcher. Chilling the mixture for at least an hour allows the cucumber's delicate flavors to infuse into the water, providing a mild, crisp taste that refreshes without overpowering. The option to gently mash the cucumber slices during infusion helps release more juice, intensifying the flavor profile. This preparation is simple and requires no cooking, just refrigeration.
The flavor is clean and subtle, with a hint of vegetal brightness from the cucumber. The drink remains light and cooling, making it a pleasant hydration choice especially during warmer weather or alongside light meals. Its mildness allows for easy customization by adding ingredients such as lemon slices, mint sprigs, or sparkling water if desired.
For best quality, serve the cucumber water the same day it is prepared, but it can be stored safely in the refrigerator for up to three days. Keeping it chilled helps maintain its freshness and taste.
