Cucumber Yogurt Sauce

Cucumber Yogurt Sauce blends plain low-fat yogurt with finely chopped Persian cucumbers, dried mint, grated garlic, and salt, thinned with water to a smooth, creamy consistency. Drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, this chilled sauce offers a refreshing, cooling accompaniment. Its balance of tangy yogurt and herbs makes it ideal for pairing with grilled meats, vegetables, or as a dip.

Description

Cucumber Yogurt Sauce combines plain, low-fat yogurt and water whisked to smoothness, then mixed with finely chopped Persian cucumbers, dried mint, freshly grated garlic, and salt. The water adjusts its texture for a lighter, sauce-like consistency. Topped with a drizzle of high-quality extra virgin olive oil just before serving, this sauce provides a cool, tangy flavor with herbal notes and a slight garlicky bite.

The cucumbers add a fresh crunch and watery sweetness which complements the creamy, slightly tart yogurt base. The dried mint enhances the cooling sensation, while the grated garlic gives a subtle sharpness. Served chilled, it's especially refreshing alongside grilled dishes or as part of a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern-style meal.

You can adjust the thickness by adding more water if you prefer a thinner sauce or dip. The sauce should be served cold and is best used within a few days.
