Cumin Lime Coleslaw

The Cumin Lime Coleslaw features shredded green cabbage, carrots, and sliced green onions tossed in a creamy dressing of mayonnaise, lime juice, ground cumin, sugar, salt, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. This combination produces a fresh, tangy salad with a subtle warmth from the cumin and gentle heat from the cayenne. The slaw offers crisp textures and bright flavors that complement grilled dishes or serve as a side at gatherings.

Description

This coleslaw recipe uses a blend of cabbage, freshly shredded carrots, and green onions to create a crunchy base. The dressing, consisting of mayonnaise mixed with lime juice, cumin, a hint of sugar, salt, and a touch of cayenne, provides a lively balance of creaminess, acidity, and mild spice. The lime juice adds a zesty brightness, while cumin brings earthy, warm notes that elevate the traditional coleslaw.

After combining the dressing with the vegetables, the slaw can be served immediately for a crisp texture or refrigerated to allow flavors to meld further. It pairs well with grilled meats, sandwiches, or as a refreshing side dish to heavier foods.

The recipe is straightforward to prepare, requiring no special preparation beyond shredding and whisking the dressing ingredients. Stir well before serving if refrigerated to redistribute dressing evenly.
