Denver Omelet

The Denver Omelet blends sautéed diced ham with chopped onions and bell peppers folded into a fluffy baked egg base with melted cheese. This recipe creates a flavorful, well-cooked omelet with evenly distributed ingredients, baked to set and sliced to serve.

Description

This Denver Omelet prepares by sautéing onions and bell peppers in butter until soft, then incorporating cooked diced ham to warm through. Meanwhile, eggs are whisked with milk and combined with shredded cheese and the sautéed ham mixture, seasoned with salt and black pepper. The mixture is poured into a greased round pan and baked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until the eggs are set and cooked through, about 20 to 25 minutes.

Baking rather than stovetop cooking results in a uniform texture without the need for flipping, and the omelet can be sliced like a pie for serving. The combination of sweet bell pepper, savory ham, and melted cheese creates a classic mix of flavors.

This dish is suitable for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner and can be easily scaled for more servings. Using cream instead of milk can add richness for a keto variation.
