Dill Dip
Description
Dill Dip brings together mayonnaise and sour cream as a base, enhanced by fresh dill and parsley that provide a bright herbal note. The addition of onion flakes adds mild savory depth, while seasoned salt ties the flavors together. Mixing the ingredients and refrigerating the dip overnight harmonizes the flavors and results in a smooth, creamy texture that complements fresh vegetables or snack foods. The recipe also includes advice on keeping the dip chilled if left out for extended periods.
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons onion flakes
- 3 tablespoons dill fresh
- 1 tablespoon parsley fresh
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Lawrey's)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl combine mayonnaise, sour cream, onion flakes, dill, parsley, and seasoned salt.
- Store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator overnight.* (Be sure you keep a bowl of the dip in ice if it is going to be sitting outside for more than two hours.)
Notes
- The dip can be eaten immediately but benefits from refrigeration overnight to enhance flavor.
- If serving outdoors for over two hours, keep the dip chilled on ice to ensure safety and freshness.
