Dill Pickle Dip
Description
Dill Pickle Dip brings together sour cream, mayonnaise, and chopped pickles, enhanced by pickle juice and seasoned with dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. The dip is mixed and then chilled to develop its mellow yet tangy flavors. This combination results in a creamy texture with bits of pickle for contrast. It is suitable to serve chilled alongside tortilla chips, crackers, pita chips, or raw vegetables for dipping.
The use of pickle juice and dried or fresh dill distinguishes this dip with a characteristic pickle flavor. The garlic and onion powders add subtle depth without overpowering the freshness of the dill and acidity of the pickles.
Refrigeration for about an hour before serving allows the ingredients to blend well, making the dip more flavorful. Chopped pickles can be reserved to garnish the top for added texture and visual appeal. The flexibility of sour cream types means you can choose regular or light versions without affecting the dip's success.

- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup pickles approx. 5 spears + extra for optional garnish, chopped
