Donut Muffins

Donut Muffins are tender baked muffins flavored with cinnamon and nutmeg, then coated in melted butter and a cinnamon-sugar mixture while still warm. The topping mimics the sweet, spiced crust of a traditional donut, delivering a soft, moist muffin with a sugary cinnamon finish.

Description

Donut Muffins start with a batter of all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, egg, vegetable oil, sugar, and milk. The dry and wet ingredients are combined and baked in muffin cups until golden and cooked through. While hot, muffins are dipped in melted butter then rolled in a cinnamon-sugar mixture to replicate the sugary exterior characteristic of donuts.

This approach blends the convenience of muffins with the flavor and texture profile reminiscent of classic cinnamon sugar donuts. It offers a baked, less greasy alternative that still delivers the sweet spice and sugar coating. The topping both adds flavor and a slight crunch contrasting the soft crumb inside.
