Doritos Taco Salad
Description
This taco salad begins by browning lean ground beef and seasoning it with a packet of taco seasoning. After simmering, the beef is cooled slightly and combined with chopped romaine lettuce, black beans, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese in a large bowl. Wonton strips or similar crunchy elements like Doritos (Nacho Cheese flavor) are added only just before serving to maintain crunch.
The combination of warm seasoned beef with fresh vegetables and cheese creates a hearty salad. Adding Doritos chips imparts a crunchy, flavorful contrast that complements the other components. The salad dressing, such as ranch or Catalina, adds creaminess or tanginess according to preference.
Prepare the salad by tossing ingredients gently to distribute flavors evenly, and add chips and dressing immediately before serving.

- 1 pound ground beef lean
- 1 packet (1 ounce) taco seasoning
- 3 to 4 romaine lettuce rinsed then chopped, hearts
- 1 cup black beans rinsed
