Dr. Pepper Ribs Recipe
Description
This recipe uses pork ribs cooked initially in Dr Pepper, a soda that helps soften the meat during a long simmer. The boiling process takes about three hours, allowing the ribs to become tender. Following this, the ribs are placed on a grill and cooked briefly on each side while brushing on BBQ sauce to form a sticky, caramelized coating.
The combination of simmering in soda and grilling with sauce lends the ribs a distinctive sweet and charred flavor. This technique also helps achieve tender, juicy meat that easily pulls from the bones. The recipe is straightforward, relying on these main ingredients and steps.
Ingredients
- 3 racks pork ribs
- 1 liter Dr Pepper soda
- BBQ sauce
Instructions
- Place ribs in a large pot and cover with Dr Pepper until coverd. Boil for three hours.
- Place Ribs on grill and cook for three to five minutes on each side.
- While on the grill, brush with desired amount of bbq sauce. Repeat on other side.
