Drinking Caramel Recipe

Drinking Caramel is a warm, smooth sauce made from organic light brown sugar, water, heavy cream, sea salt, and vanilla extract. The caramelization of sugar combined with rich cream and a hint of salt creates a thickened sweet liquid perfect for sipping or adding to espresso or other hot beverages.

Description

This recipe for Drinking Caramel starts by boiling organic light brown sugar and water until the sugar darkens and develops toasted notes. Slowly whisking in heavy cream integrates the caramelized sugar and cream into a velvety sauce. Adding sea salt and vanilla extract balances and enhances the flavor, while a brief simmer thickens the mixture to a consistency suitable for drinking.

The resulting caramel has a rich, sweet taste with a gentle salt contrast and fragrant vanilla undertone. Served warm in small cups, it offers a comforting treat, often consumed as a sweet drink or used to enrich coffee-based beverages like espresso.

  • 1 teaspoon salt sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
