Easy 3-Ingredient Cream Cheese Fruit Dip Recipe
Description
The recipe starts by whipping heavy cream or a whipped topping to firm peaks, then beating softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth. Folding the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture lightens it, resulting in a fluffy yet creamy consistency ideal for dipping. The dip can be served immediately or chilled for firmer texture.
The combination balances sweet and creamy elements without overpowering the flavor of the accompanying fruit. It works as a simple dessert or snack option to enhance seasonal or everyday fruit selections and other dippers like crackers or graham crackers.
Various extract flavors or additions like citrus zest, fruit purees, spices, or chocolate powder can customize the dip. Notes include ensuring cream cheese is fully softened for smoothness and considering sugar adjustments when using whipped toppings. Leftovers keep well refrigerated and can be softened again before serving.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar do not add sugar if using Cool Whip or whipped topping.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract try other extracts too, see post for ideas

Notes
- Allow cream cheese to soften fully at room temperature for about 30 minutes before mixing to avoid lumps.
- Chill the dip for at least one hour to improve texture and flavor meld before serving.
- Use powdered sugar for a smoother texture compared to granulated sugar.
- Garnish dips with fresh fruit slices or mint leaves for presentation.
- Add a pinch of lemon or orange zest to enhance the flavor with a subtle citrus note.
- Experiment with different extracts like strawberry, almond, or caramel for flavor variations.
- For autumn, add warm spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg to the dip mixture.
- Chocolate lovers can mix in unsweetened cocoa powder for a chocolate dip variant.
- Flavored cream cheese or fruit purees can be swirled in for more variety.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days; allow to soften before serving again.
