Easy Alfredo Sauce (5 Minutes)

Easy Alfredo Sauce combines heavy cream, butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and garlic parsley salt into a creamy sauce. It is gently simmered while whisking to melt the cheese and meld flavors into a rich, smooth sauce. The sauce can be served over pasta or used as a pizza topping for a buttery, garlicky flavor.

Description

This Alfredo sauce begins by heating heavy whipping cream, butter, and garlic parsley salt until it reaches a gentle simmer. Constant whisking prevents sticking and encourages a creamy texture. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese is added and whisked until it completely melts, creating a thick, luscious sauce. Pressing in fresh garlic cloves during cooking infuses the sauce with garlicky aroma without harshness. The final product is smooth and rich with a balance of dairy and garlic flavors.

The sauce is ideal for tossing with cooked pasta as a simple meal or for spreading on pizza bases before baking to impart creamy garlic richness. Using high-quality Parmesan cheese makes a noticeable difference in flavor and texture compared to pre-shredded varieties.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 tbsp butter unsalted
  • 1 1/2 cups Parmesan Cheese
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp garlic parsley salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients. Parmesan cheese is much better if it's freshly grated from a block vs a pre-shredded variety.
  2. Heat heavy whipping cream, parsley garlic salt, and butter in a saucepan until it starts to simmer. Whisk the cream as it simmers, so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
  3. Press garlic into the sauce and cook for another minute. Add Parmesan cheese to the sauce, keep whisking until it completely melts.
  4. Now that the sauce is ready, you can prepare some pasta to go with it. Or, feel free to use it for baking pizza.
