Easy Baked Oats
Description
Easy Baked Oats use rolled oats mixed with mashed bananas, grated fresh ginger, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and maple syrup to build natural sweetness and aromatic spice. Baking powder adds lightness, while whole milk moistens the mixture. Blueberries scattered throughout provide bursts of freshness and color.
Baked until set but still moist, the texture is slightly cakey yet retains the chewiness of oats. The ginger adds a subtle kick that complements the sweetness from banana and maple syrup. This dish can be served with yogurt, seeds, or additional berries to add variety in texture and flavor.
Greasing the baking dish prevents sticking, and baking time should be monitored to preserve moisture without dryness. Substitutions include non-dairy milk for vegan versions and alternative sweeteners for maple syrup. Incorporating an egg and blending can create a more cake-like texture if desired.

Notes
- Grease the baking dish well to prevent oats from sticking during baking.
- Watch baking time closely to keep the oats moist and avoid drying out.
- Use plant-based milk to make this recipe vegan if preferred.
- Maple syrup can be replaced by honey or other liquid sweeteners, or omitted for less sweetness since banana and blueberries add natural sugars.
- Frozen blueberries can substitute fresh ones without significantly changing texture or flavor.
- Adding an egg and blending mixtures creates a cakier texture if desired.
- Choose gluten-free oats certified for that purpose to ensure the recipe is gluten free.
