Easy BBQ Baked Breaded Chicken Recipe
Description
The chicken breast strips are dipped first in a mixture of BBQ sauce and water, which adds moisture and flavor to the coating process. They are then thoroughly coated in a blend of traditional and panko breadcrumbs, which provides a crunchy texture when baked. Arranged on a foil-lined baking sheet sprayed with non-stick spray, the chicken pieces bake at 400°F to cook through and firm up the crust.
A final step under the broiler crisps the coating to a golden texture, ensuring a balance of softness inside and crunch outside. The use of BBQ sauce in place of egg provides a sticky surface for breadcrumbs and an additional layer of smoky-sweet seasoning. This method is convenient as it avoids frying and uses pantry staples.
This dish works well as a casual meal or snack, especially with dipping sauces. Breaded chicken strips prepared this way benefit from the combination of moisture from the sauce and crispness from the breadcrumbs. Serving with traditional dipping sauces complements the smoky BBQ flavor.
