Easy Beef and Broccoli

Easy Beef and Broccoli combines thinly sliced flank steak with fresh broccoli florets in a savory sauce blending soy sauce, honey, rice wine vinegar, and spices like garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. The steak cooks quickly in a hot skillet before the broccoli and sauce are added to create a tender, flavorful dish with a slightly thickened sauce. This Chinese-American-style stir fry delivers a balance of sweet, salty, and spicy notes and works well as a quick main dish served with rice.

Description

This recipe uses flank steak sliced thinly across the grain to maintain tenderness after a brief high-heat sear in olive oil. The broccoli is added shortly after to stay crisp-tender, absorbing the sauce made from soy sauce, chicken stock, honey, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, sriracha, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes. Cornstarch included in the marinade thickens the sauce as it cooks, coating the steak and broccoli evenly.

The combined flavors range from sweet and tangy to mildly spicy, while the garlic and ginger provide aromatic depth. The dish is completed in under 10 minutes of active cooking, making it a practical and flavorful option for weeknight dinners, especially when paired with steamed white or brown rice.
