Easy beetroot hummus

Easy beetroot hummus combines cooked beetroot and canned chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, and olive oil into a coarse, creamy dip. The beetroot adds a subtle earthy sweetness and vibrant color to the traditional chickpea base, with a balanced seasoning of salt and pepper. This hummus is crafted in a food processor and served as a spread or dip alongside warm pitta bread, crackers, or crusty bread.

Description

Easy beetroot hummus is made by blending cooked beetroot, chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper into a coarse paste that gains creaminess with olive oil. The beetroot introduces an earthy sweetness and vivid pink hue that distinguishes it from classic hummus. The addition of cumin and lemon juice provides a gentle warmth and brightness. The preparation involves pulsing ingredients in a food processor to achieve a consistency that holds some texture but is creamy enough for spreading or dipping.

The resulting hummus offers a smooth yet slightly rustic texture, making it versatile to serve with warm pitas, crunchy crackers, or fresh crusty bread. Its balanced seasoning and natural sweetness make it appealing for snacking or as part of a mezze platter.
