Easy Black Bean Dip
Description
The dip mixes canned black beans rinsed and drained with aromatic ingredients like chopped yellow onion, fresh cilantro, and minced garlic. A small jalapeño adds gentle heat without overwhelming spice. Fresh lime juice brightens the flavor while ground cumin, chili powder, kosher salt, and black pepper add depth and seasoning. All ingredients are blended in a food processor until smooth and creamy.
Optionally topped with crumbly cotija cheese, the dip balances earthy bean flavors with fresh herbs and citrus. It's naturally gluten-free and can be made vegan by omitting cheese. Served chilled or at room temperature, it's suitable for snacking with tortilla chips, crackers, or raw cut vegetables.
Ingredients
- 30 ounces black beans rinsed and drained, 2 cans
- 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
- 1/3 cup cilantro chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced

- 1/4 teaspoon cumin ground
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cotija cheese for garnish, optional
Instructions
