Easy Buttermilk Ranch
Description
This ranch dressing combines sour cream and mayonnaise as the creamy base, thinned with buttermilk to achieve the desired pourable consistency. Fresh lemon juice provides brightness, complemented by minced chives, dried dill, Italian parsley, garlic, and onion powder for layered herbaceous taste. Black pepper, kosher salt, and optional sugar balance the flavors.
Mixing all ingredients in a bowl until smooth creates a classic ranch dressing with a fresh buttermilk tang and herbal notes. It serves well as a salad dressing or as a dip for raw vegetables and snacks.
Store the dressing in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week. If it thickens, thin it with a bit of buttermilk or milk before serving. While it can be prepared a day ahead to blend flavors, freezing is not recommended as it alters texture.
