Easy Candied Bacon Recipe

Report
Easy Candied Bacon features bacon coated with a sticky blend of maple syrup and brown sugar that caramelizes during baking to create sweet, crisp slices. This recipe uses oven baking on a rack for even cooking and easy cleanup. The result is bacon with a crunchy sugary crust and savory backbone, great for snacking or as a garnish to dishes.

Description

This candied bacon recipe involves brushing uncooked bacon strips placed on a rack with a mixture of maple syrup and brown sugar. The coated bacon is baked in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until crisp and caramelized, usually about 25 to 40 minutes depending on thickness and desired crispiness. Cooling on a wire rack helps maintain crisp texture.

The flavor contrast between the smoky, salty bacon and the sweet maple and brown sugar coating creates an indulgent treat. The browning and caramelization add a crunch that enhances the bacon’s usual texture. This method makes the candied bacon easy to prepare in batches and keeps cleanup minimal with foil-lined sheets.

This candied bacon can be served as a snack, breakfast side, or as a sweet-savory garnish for salads and desserts. The leftover candied bacon stores well in an airtight container for several days.

Adjust baking time to achieve your preferred level of crispness. Thicker bacon slices need longer baking times. Watch carefully toward the end to prevent burning.
