Easy Cheesy Asparagus Spinach Dip

This dip combines tender asparagus, fresh spinach, and a blend of cream cheese, Parmesan, and mozzarella for a rich, creamy texture with a hint of garlic and a mild kick from red pepper flakes. The asparagus is softened before blending to create a smooth base, while the sautéed spinach adds extra flavor and depth. Baked until bubbly and topped with melted mozzarella, it offers a warm, cheesy experience ideal for serving with chips, bread, or vegetables as a comforting appetizer or snack.

Description

Easy Cheesy Asparagus Spinach Dip brings together a combination of fresh vegetables and cheeses into a creamy, oven-baked spread. The recipe starts with fresh asparagus that are trimmed and cooked until tender, then blended with garlic, cream cheese, Parmesan, and a few spices to create a smooth asparagus base. Fresh baby spinach is sautéed in olive oil and mixed into this blend, adding earthiness and vitality. The mixture is topped with mozzarella cheese and baked until hot and bubbly, resulting in a dip with a luscious, cheesy texture and gentle vegetal undertones from the asparagus and spinach.

The garlicky notes combined with touches of red pepper flakes and optional paprika provide subtle depth without overwhelming the flavor of the fresh ingredients. The dip is well suited for scooping with crackers, toasted bread, or fresh vegetables, making it a satisfying choice for gatherings or casual snacking.

The recipe yields about three cups of dip and encourages garnishing with parsley or extra cheese and red pepper flakes for added visual appeal and flavor layers.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 asparagus bunch, approx 38 spears
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 5-6 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • cup Parmesan Cheese coarsely grated + packed
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp paprika optional
  • 5 oz spinach fresh baby
  • 1-2 tsp olive oil
  • 2-3 oz mozzarella cheese grated or sliced
  • parsley to garnish
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Trim and rinse your asparagus stalks, then blanch or steam until tender.
  3. In a food processor, combine asparagus, garlic, cream cheese, and parm cheese along with your garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt and paprika. Blend until creamy and smooth.
  4. In a well-seasoned cast iron skillet, sauté an entire package of spinach with a little bit of olive oil, then add your asparagus dip.
  5. Fold together and top with fresh mozzarella [or try gouda!] and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with your favorites [parsley, part, red pepper flakes, etc...] and grab your favorite dippers!
  7. Dive in!

Notes

  • Blanch or steam asparagus until just tender to maintain color and flavor before blending.
  • Sauté spinach in olive oil to reduce moisture and concentrate flavor before combining with the dip base.
  • Use softened cream cheese to ensure a smooth, creamy consistency in the blended mixture.
  • Moisture content can vary; adjust baking time to achieve a bubbly, melted cheese top without drying out the dip.
  • Serve warm with sturdy dippers like bread slices or chips to hold the dip well.
