Easy Cheesy Green Pepper Dip

This creamy, baked dip combines ground beef, sautéed green peppers, garlic, diced tomatoes, and cream cheese, topped with shredded Italian cheese. The mixture is cooked on the stove to meld flavors and then baked briefly to melt the cheese topping, resulting in a warm, cheesy dip with savory and slightly tangy notes from the tomatoes and peppers.

Description

Easy Cheesy Green Pepper Dip involves browning ground beef and sautéing chopped green peppers with garlic in margarine, then mixing in diced tomatoes and cream cheese to form a smooth, creamy base. The addition of Italian cheese blend sprinkled on top before baking adds a melty, golden finish.

The dip offers a balance of textures: the slight crunch of green peppers, the creamy cheese mixture, and the tender ground beef. Baking at 325°F for a short time softens the top cheese layer without overcooking the dip, keeping it creamy and flavorful.

Served warm as an appetizer or snack, this dip pairs well with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables for dipping. The garden vegetable flavored cream cheese adds subtle herb and veggie notes that complement the peppers and tomatoes.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 green pepper large
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 - 14.5 oz diced tomatoes canned
  • 8 ounce cream cheese garden vegetable flavored
  • 1 cup Italian cheese blend shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet and drain.
  3. Chop the large green pepper into small pieces. You should have about 2 cups.
  4. Melt margarine in a large sauce pan.
  5. Add the green pepper and garlic. Saute for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove 1/4 cup of green pepper from the sauce pan and set aside for later.
  6. In the sauce pan, add the diced tomatoes and the ground beef you browned earlier and mix together with the green peppers. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  7. Now add the garden vegetable cream cheese to the green pepper mixture and stir continuously until the cheese has completely melted.
  8. Transfer the cheesy green pepper mixture into a lightly greased 9 x 9 or 1.5 qt oven safe baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and top with the sauteed green peppers you set aside earlier.
  10. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 minutes or until the shredded cheese has melted. Enjoy!
