Easy Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Puffs

Easy Cheesy Pepperoni Pizza Puffs are savory baked treats combining a tender flour-based batter with shredded cheddar, diced bell pepper, and mini pepperoni. A string of mozzarella cheese is nestled inside each puff for a melty surprise. These bites bake until lightly browned and offer classic pizza flavors in a convenient muffin form, served with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

Description

This recipe mixes all-purpose flour, baking powder, and Italian-inspired spices with milk and beaten egg to form a batter. Shredded cheddar cheese, diced red bell pepper, and mini pepperoni are folded in, then the batter rests briefly before being portioned into a greased muffin pan. A length of mozzarella string cheese is cut and pressed into the center of each muffin, creating a stretchy cheese core after baking at 375°F for about 20 minutes.

The finished pizza puffs have a soft yet structured crumb, infused with savory, tangy flavors from the pepperoni and cheeses. The bell pepper adds mild sweetness and a bit of texture. Serving them with warmed pizza sauce adds moisture and enhances the pizza experience. These puffs work well as appetizers, snacks, or crowd-pleasing finger foods.
