Easy Chicken Tikka Boti Recipe
Description
Easy Chicken Tikka Boti Recipe combines a mix of spices such as cumin, coriander, red chili powders, amchur, turmeric, and salt with ginger, garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, and cooking oil to create a deep-flavored marinade for boneless chicken cubes. Using tenderloin or boneless thigh meat helps retain moisture during grilling, preventing dryness often encountered with chicken breast. The inclusion of optional red food coloring gives the chicken a vibrant red hue reminiscent of restaurant-style tikka, though it does not affect taste.
The marinade needs at least 30 minutes, allowing the spices and acids to tenderize and infuse the meat. Cooking involves high-temperature grilling first to sear the outside and lock in juices, followed by reducing heat to ensure thorough cooking to a safe internal temperature of 165°F. Threading the chicken on skewers helps in even cooking and ease of handling on the grill.
This recipe suits those looking for a flavorful grilled chicken dish with balanced spice and acidity, suitable for serving alongside rice, flatbreads, or salads. The marinade’s complexity enhances the taste while the grilling method adds a slight char and smoke flavor unique to this preparation.
Marinating longer or even freezing the marinated chicken until needed offers practical make-ahead options. Removing cold chicken from the refrigerator before cooking or marinating overnight enhances flavor absorption and texture.
