Easy Chimichurri Sauce Recipe
Description
This recipe for Easy Chimichurri Sauce uses fresh flat-leaf parsley and minced garlic as its base, avoiding food processors to preserve texture. Olive oil and red wine vinegar create a balanced liquid with a tangy and slightly fruity profile, while oregano adds herbal notes. Salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes adjust the seasoning and give a mild heat. After combining, the sauce is refrigerated at least two hours to let flavors develop.
The fresh green herbs and garlic blend with acid and oil to form a versatile accompaniment. Chimichurri is commonly served alongside grilled meats, vegetables, or as a marinade. Its bright, zesty character complements savory dishes and adds a punch of freshness.
Ingredients
- 1 cup parsley from 1 bunch parsley, flat leaf, finely chopped
- 4 garlic finely minced, cloves

- 1/2 tsp oregano or 1 Tbsp fresh oregano, dried
- 1/2 tsp salt fine sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes crushed
Instructions
- Finely chop parsley and garlic cloves with a knife (do not use a food processor) and transfer to a bowl.
