Easy Chimichurri Sauce Recipe

Easy Chimichurri Sauce blends fresh parsley, cilantro, and garlic with olive oil, red wine vinegar, and spices to create a vibrant, herbaceous condiment. Its coarse texture and bright flavors complement grilled meats and vegetables, enhancing dishes with a fresh, slightly spicy punch. The sauce requires mixing fresh ingredients and resting to marry the flavors before use.

Description

The Easy Chimichurri Sauce recipe combines flat-leaf parsley and cilantro leaves finely chopped, fresh minced garlic, and a dressing of extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. The coarse chopping preserves a slightly chunky texture that holds the bright herbal flavors well. Allowing the sauce to sit after mixing helps the olive oil and vinegar meld with the herbs and spices, creating a balanced, aromatic sauce. Typically served at room temperature, chimichurri is a classic accompaniment to grilled or roasted meats, especially beef, but it also brightens vegetables and bread. The preparation emphasizes fresh, raw ingredients without cooking, preserving the lively flavors of the herbs and garlic in a versatile condiment.
