Easy Cinnamon Buns Recipe

These Easy Cinnamon Buns are made from a simple biscuit-style dough combined with a cinnamon and brown sugar filling, rolled and sliced into individual buns. The result is a soft, tender dough snack featuring a sweet and fragrant cinnamon swirl and an optional addition of raisins for texture and flavor complexity.

Description

The dough for the Easy Cinnamon Buns consists of flour, sugar, baking powder, cold butter or margarine, and cold milk, blended until it forms a soft ball. This biscuit-like dough is rolled out to a rectangular shape. The filling, made of brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon, is spread evenly over the rolled dough along with optional raisins, then the dough is rolled into a log and divided into 12 pieces.

While the procedures suggest placing a teaspoon of filling in each muffin tin, the main body of filling is spread across the dough prior to rolling. Baking at 400 degrees Fahrenheit helps develop a golden, soft bun with the cinnamon sugar melted inside, creating a moist and sweet interior. The dough's texture is tender due to the baking powder leavening, and the raisins add bursts of chewy sweetness when used.

Sometimes the recipe allows for currants or no fruit as variations, adjusting the fruitiness. These buns are great for breakfast or snacks, served warm to maximize the flavor and softness.
