  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 garlic minced, cloves
  • 2 celery chopped, ribs
  • 1 onion finely chopped, medium
  • 1 TBSP. parsley chopped, fresh
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. ground red pepper
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper ground
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup rice white rice or brown rice, uncooked
  • (1) 14.5 oz. beef broth canned
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions

  1. Cook ground beef,garlic cloves, onion celery,parsley and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink in large skillet.
  2. Stir in salt, red pepper, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce - cook stirring often.
  3. Add rice, broth, ¾ cup water, stirring well. Bring to a boil, cover reduce to medium high heat and simmer 25 minutes or until rice tender. Remove from the heat.
  4. Salt and pepper to taste. You can also add bay leaves to the mixture.

Notes

  • Serve Dirty Rice with classic sides like cornbread and a green vegetable.
  • Bay leaves can be added during cooking for extra flavor if desired.
  • Adjust seasoning at the end to taste, especially salt and pepper.
