Easy Feta Dip
Description
Easy Feta Dip combines feta cheese crumbled over a bed of diced Roma tomatoes and thinly sliced green onions, all dressed with olive oil and seasoned with Cavender's Greek seasoning. The feta used preferably comes in a moist block form, which adds a creamier texture to the dip. Mixing in optional diced cucumber and drizzling balsamic vinegar introduces additional fresh and tangy notes. The dish requires minimal preparation, layering the ingredients in a single platter and gently mixing before serving. Served alongside fresh sliced baguette or pita chips, it offers a Mediterranean-inspired flavor with contrasting creamy, briny, and crisp elements.
Ingredients
- olive oil about 1/4 cup
- 1 cup Roma tomato or grape tomato, seeded and diced
- 4-5 green onions about 1 cup, sliced thinly
- 8 ounces feta cheese crumbled
- 2-3 teaspoons Cavender's Greek seasoning (start with 2 and add more to taste)
- baguette fresh, sliced thinly
- (optional) English cucumber diced
- (optional) balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- On a large platter drizzle olive oil until you have a thin layer on the entire platter. You may use more or less here depending on your preference.
- Add the tomatoes, green onions, and feta on top of the olive oil. Sprinkle with the Greek seasoning, starting with 2 teaspoons and add more to taste.
- With a spoon carefully combine the ingredients. If using a cucumber, stir it in. If desired, drizzle a little balsamic on top.
- Serve with warm sliced baguettes for scooping up the dip or pita chips. Best served the same day.
Notes
- Using block feta cheese adds moisture and creaminess compared to pre-crumbled dry feta.
- Best served on the same day to maintain freshness and texture.
- Adjust Greek seasoning amount according to taste, starting with less and adding more if needed.
