Easy Five Spice Powder

  • 1- inch cinnamon stick , break apart
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1- star anise , break apart into petals

Instructions

  1. In a small pan over medium-high heat; Toast all the spices until the aroma is released (you should hear faint sizzling noises). Then transfer the spices into a small bowl to cool.
  2. Once cooled down completely, transfer to a spice grinder or use a mortar and pestle. Ground until the Five Spice Powder turns into a fine powder. Transfer the Five Spice Powder to an airtight jar and store it in a cool, dark place out of direct sunlight.
