Easy Fruit Dip with Marshmallow Cream
Description
The Easy Fruit Dip mixes room temperature cream cheese with marshmallow creme and vanilla until smooth and fluffy, then chills until serving. The dip’s creamy sweetness balances the tartness and freshness of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, oranges, apples, bananas, kiwi, and more. It also works well with non-fruit dippers such as graham crackers, peanut butter cups, cookies, marshmallows, and pound cake, offering versatility for a variety of tastes and occasions.
The dip requires no special equipment but benefits from using a mixer to achieve smoothness. It stores well in the refrigerator for up to a week, and a quick stir before serving revives its texture. Leaving it out at room temperature for up to two hours is suitable for serving. Using skewers for small fruits can make dipping easier and less messy.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened to room temperature, I used full-fat, but Neufchatel or low-fat may also be used.
- 7 ounces marshmallow creme aka marshmallow fluff
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fruit Fresh berries, oranges, apples, bananas, kiwi, for dipping
- Other dippers try graham crackers, peanut butter cups, chocolate, marshmallows, cookies, nilla wafers, pound cake
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Next beat in the marshmallow creme, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
- Chill until ready to serve. Serve with your favorite fruits, crackers, chocolates, marshmallows or more. See notes and post for more options.
Notes
- A hand or stand mixer helps achieve smooth texture but is not necessary; mixing by hand is possible.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to seven days; stir before serving again to restore fluffiness.
- Dip can be left at room temperature safely for about two hours during serving.
- Use skewers for small berries or grapes to make dipping neater.
- Try a variety of dippers beyond fruit, including graham crackers, peanut butter cups, marshmallows, cookies, and pound cake.
