Easy Green Bean Casserole

Report
An Easy Green Bean Casserole made by combining frozen green beans with cream of mushroom soup, milk, and seasoning, topped with crispy French fried onions. The dish is baked until hot and bubbly, with a crunchy onion topping added halfway to maintain texture. This classic side offers a creamy and slightly crunchy texture suitable for holiday meals and gatherings.

Description

This green bean casserole blends frozen green beans with a mixture of cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and black pepper, providing a creamy base that cooks with the beans in a casserole dish. Half of the French fried onions are mixed into the casserole before baking to soften slightly, and the remaining onions are added after 30 minutes to bake on top for an additional 10 minutes, ensuring a crisp, golden crust.

The resulting dish balances tender green beans immersed in a smooth, savory mushroom sauce with the contrasting crunch of fried onions on top. The baking process melds the flavors and textures well, making it a comforting and familiar side dish.

This casserole pairs well with roasted meats or holiday entrees. Using frozen green beans contributes to a firmer texture, while fresh or canned beans can be substituted based on preference for softness.
