Easy Ground Beef Bulgogi
Description
Easy Ground Beef Bulgogi uses a bulgogi sauce made from soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic, creating a sweet, slightly tangy, and aromatic base. Ground beef and diced onion are cooked until partially browned before adding the sauce and simmering for 6 to 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the beef to cook through yet remain tender. The finished dish is sprinkled with scallions and sesame seeds, adding crunch and freshness, then topped with a soft boiled egg whose rich yolk adds a creamy contrast.
The texture is tender and saucy with a balance of savory, acidic, and sweet elements, capturing the essence of bulgogi in an easy, accessible form. Serving it over plain rice helps to absorb the flavorful sauce and round out the meal.
Soft boiled eggs accompany this dish by lending a luscious topping that complements the beef’s depth. The eggs require careful timing and an ice bath to achieve the perfect soft yolk, which is a practical step highlighted in the notes. This recipe adapts a Korean classic into a straightforward, one-pan approach.
Prepare the eggs carefully to achieve the ideal soft boiled center by precisely timing boiling and chilling. Its straightforward execution makes this dish practical to add Korean flavors to home cooking without complex cuts of meat or labor-intensive marinades.
