Easy Ground Beef Tacos

Easy Ground Beef Tacos use lean ground beef browned and simmered in a tomato paste and water mixture with a homemade taco seasoning of chili powder, cumin, onion and garlic powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, salt, and pepper. Heated taco shells are filled with the seasoned meat and toppings. The dish offers a straightforward and flavorful taco filling with balanced spices and a mildly thickened sauce.

Description

The recipe starts by cooking lean ground beef until browned and drained. A seasoning blend combining chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, salt, and pepper is mixed with tomato paste and water, then added to the beef to simmer. This melts the tomato paste into a thick sauce that coats the beef with spiced flavor.

While the beef mixture simmers for about five minutes, taco shells are warmed briefly in the oven. Once the meat is thickened and flavorful, it is spooned into shells and topped as desired. The spices provide a balanced heat level and aromatic complexity without being overpowering.

This recipe serves as a simple base for homemade tacos that can be customized with various toppings, making it convenient for casual meals or quick dinners where robust ground beef filling is desired.
