Easy Guacamole
Description
This guacamole recipe starts by tossing peeled, pitted ripe avocados with fresh lime juice to prevent browning and add brightness. Garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, and kosher salt are stirred in to lend subtle savory and smoky notes. The mixture is mashed to preference, from chunky to smooth, giving control over the final texture. Fresh cilantro is folded in last to add a herbaceous, fresh contrast. Ready immediately after mixing, this guacamole pairs well with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a fresh sandwich spread.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocado peeled and pitted
- 1 TBS lime juice fresh
- 1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove minced garlic)
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp cumin ground
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 TBS cilantro chopped
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the avocado and lime juice and toss until the avocado has been completely coated.
- Add the garlic, kosher salt, cumin, and chili powder and toss to combine.
- Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocado and spices to your desired consistency. Less mashing for chunky guacamole; more mashing for creamy guacamole.
- Add cilantro and stir to combine.
- Serve immediately for best flavor.
