Easy Homemade Chicken Broth

Easy homemade chicken broth is made by simmering chicken drumsticks alongside whole carrots, unpeeled onions, garlic bulbs, bay leaves, and salt in water. This slow simmering extracts rich flavor to produce a deeply savory broth while cooking the ingredients gently for several hours. Straining removes solids, leaving a clear, nourishing stock ideal for soups or stews.

Description

The Easy Homemade Chicken Broth recipe combines poultry with aromatic vegetables and herbs simmered gently in water for three to four hours. Whole, unpeeled carrots and onions infuse sweetness and earthiness, while garlic and bay leaves add depth. The salt seasons the broth during cooking.

The slow simmering breaks down the chicken and vegetables, producing a rich, full-bodied broth with clear flavor and clarity after straining. The cooked chicken remains usable for other recipes, reducing waste.

This broth serves as a base for soups, sauces, and other dishes. It stores for up to a week refrigerated or can be frozen for months, providing versatility and convenience for home cooks who want fresh stock without additives.
