Easy Homemade Salsa
Description
Easy Homemade Salsa combines foundational ingredients like onion, garlic, and cilantro with canned diced tomatoes and green chilies to create a versatile salsa. The method offers options for texture: processing everything until smooth or pulsing the onion and garlic first for a chunkier consistency. Salt and pepper adjust the seasoning to taste. This salsa captures the freshness of herbs and the vibrant flavors of tomatoes and chilies, making it an adaptable condiment for chips, tacos, or grilled dishes.
Prepared salsa can be served immediately or refrigerated to meld flavors further. The simplicity of ingredients plus the choice of texture makes it approachable and customizable.
Ingredients
- 1/2 yellow onion rough chopped
- 1 garlic chopped, clove
- 1 1/4 cup cilantro leaves
- diced tomatoes and green chilies drained, Rotel Original, 2 10oz cans
- diced tomatoes and green chilies drained, Rotel Hot, 2 10oz cans
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- For a smoother salsa: add all ingredients to a food processor and puree until smooth. For a chunkier salsa: add onion and garlic to food processor. Pulse until onion and garlic is broken down and not in big chunks, then add the Rotel, cilantro, salt & pepper, and pulse until ingredients are just combined.
- Serve or refrigerate for later. Enjoy!
